For my hubby- 12.8.12

These 12years have flown on by
The laughter and the tears
You have been there by my side
To ease and calm my fears
Treasured moments, a life we share
All my love to you I send
Forever held within my heart
My husband, lover, friend!

Reflections

I look in the mirror
Don't like what I see
Searching Inside
Just looking for me

The pain that I feel
Keeps me locked in the past
Am hating this feeling
Don't want it to last

Need to live for the moment
Enjoy what is now
I'm determined to get there
The question is .........how!!

Poem of day 1st Sept 2012

So many things to do today
Just don't know where to start
There's going out for Debi's hen
Us girls must dress the part

The Autism Sussex Picnic
We couldn't miss out that
A chance to catch up with our friends
A coffee, cake and chat

Then dress up as a cave girl
A bone stuck through my hair
Debi's cards were in my bag
A game of things to dare

The limo came to get us
With Roger in his gown
His bits were there for all to see
Causing laughter and a frown

A pizza meal was had for tea
We went to Fire and Stone
With leopard prints and Roger
I'd say we lowered the tone

Finally it's to the club
There the hens could dance
Watching as the men close in
All hoping for a chance

At last the limo has arrived
We're singing all the way
Glad to curl up in my bed
That's where I want to stay!

Back to school

It's Kyle's first day
He's back at school
They haven't seen
He's got so tall

His hair is long
His suit is black
His tie is pink
He's glad to be back

So now we sit
We're by the sea
It's an early start
Need for coffee

Then it's home
There's work to do
The hours left
Are much too few.

Our day with the boys

We went out with the boys
We're here to have some fun
We did the dockyard cruise
And hey, there's even sun!

We went out for a 3 course meal
So stuffed we couldn't move
They say I nicked Steve's meatballs
But that they couldn't prove!

We finished at the cinema
The film we saw Dark Knight
I sat there with my coffee
Couldn't eat another bite!

Then it's home to get things done
With lots of bags to pack
Kyle's summer hols are at an end
It's time for school, they're back!

Finally I got there!

Finally I got there
To the out door pool to swim
It wasn't that I planned it
I went there on a whim

Once I'd climbed into the water
The sun it went and hid
No drying whilst I sunbathed
Just kept splashing like a kid!!

Our day in Windsor

Finally, decision made
Into Windsor we go
We're going on a boat ride
Along the river's flow

First of all we ride the bus
With a roof that is not there
Seeing all the famous sites
Relaxed without a care

The boat cruise takes us on the Thames
Near the Olympic rowing lake
Then to the Royal Farm Shop
For coffee and some cake

We go to Eton Dorney
To see the Olympic Site
The church where Robin Hood was filmed
Then home.....it's nearly night.

2/09/12 - Reading

We loaded the car and off we went
reading here we come
Our only chance to get away
Two boys, their dad and mum

A balcony we had outside
With views so great to see
As well as ducks and geese, and boats
Pulling people on a ski

After tea, we wandered round
Taking photos by the moon
Need to make the most of this
We'll be home just far too soon!

Butlins

We headed in to check our names
Get itineries for our day
Crazy golf, then fencing
Relax today, just play

Burger King for lunch
And then again for tea
There's so much here for us to do
So much for us to see

Going to the swimming pool
Kyle fell on top of Cam
So after 1st aid and some ice
We twisted, turned and swam

But the day was not yet done
There's bowling, then some pool
Jordan shot the winning pot
He thought he was so cool

Finally it's time to go
So out the gate we head
Time for one last coffee drink
And then it's off to bed!

R.I.P  Mopsy

My gorgeous Mopsy, all shades of grey
She didn't win her fight
This morning when she went to sleep
Angels took her to their light

She never will be far away
Always in my heart
Flopsy's here and all alone
Too soon for them to part

Lots of kisses, cuddles too
We love our Mopsy so
Together we'll remember her
To stop us feeling low

Mopsy

My head it aches
My body's slow
All energy gone
I feel so low

My poorly bunny
Will not eat
Just want her up
Upon her feet

To see her feed
Would be just swell
Oh to see
Poor Mopsy well!

Up and down

It's been a day of ups and downs
With fun but sadness too
Immy, Connor, Karen came
So many things to do

The trampoline she bounced upon
And running round and round
The boys played on the xbox
For once without a sound

The barbecue we ate outside
Good times were had by all
But then I saw my bunny
All curled up in a ball

Steve went to the vets with her
They gave her lots of meds
Now we have to sit and wait
Try and sleep up in our beds

Rain

I always love the sound of rain
Falling from the sky
I find it so relaxing
Some people hate it.....why?

It's natures way of making sure
All living things they grow
Stops the rivers running dry
Makes sure they keep their flow

Pitter, patter on the roof
The trickle through the tree
A fresh new feeling in the air
A time to simply be!

Friends

Laughter rings inside the house
The boys are having fun
The xbox keeps them stuck inside
Instead of in the sun

But they have some friends round
The four of them hang out
I can't be cross at all the noise
Even when they shout

There was a time I couldn't see
Them having times like this
The quietness caused by loneliness
Is something I don't miss!

Archery

O what, o what to write about
We've had so much to do
I've shot an arrow into gold
Played chess with Cameron too

Steve shot with his usual skill
He never failed to miss
Sitting on a chair he aimed
But then he turned, what's this?

A woman standing by his side
Camera to her eye
Photo and story is required
Of Steve, the question's.... WHY?

He;s come back to a sport he loves
Despite a broken neck
But watch out now, he's turned around
Released, now duck, oh heck!!!!

Emotions

So easy to hide
But so hard to feel
Thinking about it
The pain is too real

I keep myself busy
Don't want to think
I'll hide all the pain
With a smile and a wink

I want to move on
From the pain in my past
Feel that I'm worth it
Find a smile that can last!

Maths GCSE

The day has come
We sit, we wait
So hard we must
Anticipate

The envelopes here
But shut it must stay
Cos Kyle's gone out
It's a judo day

Finally the time has come
He opens up to see
It's written there in black and white
So proud , he's got a 'B'

Kyle's Day

Sweat is pouring, tiredness showing
Strain is on the face
Facing others on the mat
How does he keep the pace?

Throw opponents on the ground
Try to keep them down
Watch the concentration there
Looking like a frown

Trained by someone who's got gold
Is really rather cool
Kyle is at his annual week
Of Judo summer school!

Kayaking

Sitting on the kayak
Riding On the sea
Paddling hard against the tide
Helen aiding me

Jon is swimming in the sea
The others on the shore
Our time was over quickly
Can't wait to come for more

Cam was brave, he had a go
The waves they were too high
We treated all the boys to chips
Then sadly said 'Goodbye'!

Health Club

Today I joined the health club
With exercise in mind
Time for relaxation
A chance to help unwind

Exercise within the pool
The water like a weight
It would only be improved
If I could only find a mate

Saying that, I love the peace
The time to sit and think
But careful, not too long outside
The sun will turn me pink!!

Family Visit

With Dale, Kyla and Imogen
We have had such fun
Playing with the paddling pool
And sitting in the sun

We're playing in the garden
Immy's going down the slide
Water's being thrown about
But where oh where to hide

Granddad plays with Peppa Pig
There's giggles all the way
All to soon it's time to go
More fun another day!

Paintballing

Cameron went paintballing
He and his friends had fun
Rather him than me tho
Thick coat on in the sun!

His friends just could not understand
How he had not been hit
We're thinking that to dodge them all
He must be very fit!

He was just so determined
He didn't want to lose
Then look, what's this, we found it
...........A solitary bruise!!

Enable Me Club

The Youth Club Opened up it's doors
The guests were welcomed in
Wheelchair Hockey was the game
I wondered who would win

Andrew and Suloo from Timeaside
Are there with all their art
There's clay and ribbon, glue to stick
It's knowing where to start

Anim8 was all set up
There's different games to play
The time has come when we must go
When we'd much rather stay!

(c)
Find myself

I need to think
To find my way
The words won't come
It's hard to say

I go to talk
But then I find
I can't sort out
My cluttered mind

I will persist
I'll see it through
I'll look inside
To myself be true

A dear friend

Time to catch up
With a friend so dear
A chance to chat
But also hear

So much to say
Tales to share
Hope our friend knows
How much we care
xxxxxx

Weight

I hate my weight
And what you see
It causes pain
No longer me

I try so hard
I do my best
I get so tired
Then need to rest

Ride my bike
Swim in the pool
I hate my look
Feel like a fool

I've had enough
There's more to give
My kids need me
It's time to live!

Another poem by Cam

Another poem by Cam

Where can I hide?

I cry myself to sleep
The anger is like molten lava, pouring down my face
Punches are like stone
Everytime I see you I am afraid of you
I feel like stone
Every time I see you I feel afraid

I feel that i should run away from you when I see you
I would like to run but you are everywhere
Every time you leave me I start to cry
I wonder what you will do next
I would like to hide but I can't escape your grasp
I wonder if you will leave me alone!

(c)
A poem by my 12yr old Cam who has Fetal Valproate Syndrome with Aspergers

A poem by Cam - Isolation

I'm alone, always alone in the corner
Voices surround me in the corner
Cornered by voices!
What do I do, the noise, it is everywhere
Whispers keep me back like a brick wall
My heart stops in fear
Where do I go, What do i do?
I run but it follows me

Where is safety?
I try to run but I can't
The fear surges through my body
As I wait!
Poem 3 - My favourite place

Waves crashing
Gulls screeching
My favourite sounds
By the sea

The sun beats down
A gentle breeze
Peace and tranquility
Heaven

A cappuccino
Birds hopping near
The Lobster Pot
My favourite place

(c)

Poem 2 - Support

A lovely day spent with a friend
We set the world to rights
All the things we'd like to change
We'll target in our sights

We look at schools, ones with support
We talk of respite too
Ones that help our children most
But where to go and who

Speech and language is a must
To help communicate
Feelings that they need to express
And maybe find a mate!

(c)
Poem 1 - Hospital

 Fracture clinics where I am
A long wait for a doctor you see
A decision to be made on what to do
And how to fix my knee

The waiting just goes on and on
I'm certainly not alone
So many people here to fix
A problem with a bone

Time for coffee and a mag
Before I will be seen
Appointments here at Fracture Clinic
.........really not that keen!

Cortisone they shot inside
It really wasn't good
But maybe now my knee will work
A bit more like it should!!!

Janma's Day

Off I went, there's fun in store
With Immy there's laughter, joy and more
One last prezzie, the paper's now gone
Peppa Pig's Castle, with a crown that just shone

We fed all the bunnies, the guinea pigs too
We're having such fun in Janma's own zoo
After some lunch she dropped off to sleep
Curled up with snuggles, not a sound, not a peep!

Monday 13 th August 2012

Cam went playing sports today
Kyle he chose PACSO
Steve and I caught up with friends
People good to know

Rice Rissols made for Kyle for tea
His favourite food to eat
He's had a busy last few days
And so deserved a treat

Weight watchers I had tonight
The scales I had to face
1lb was lost, I feel so good
I'm getting on the case!

A Busy Day - 12th August 2012

A busy day we have today
So many things to do
Imogen is turning 3
Our anniversary too

Other one's to celebrate
Are Kaitlyn and Steve's dad
We're meeting family at the pub
A party with cake to be had

Then it's off to Goodwood
The Bader Braves are there
Steve went in a Bi-plane
He flew without a care

In the evening out we went
McDonald's was our tea
The cinema was next in store
For Spiderman to see

We've had such a special day
With family and our friends
Then we watch Olympics
To see as it all ends!!

(c)
Tangmere Aviation

Tangmere Aviation
Today that's where we've been
Pieces of flying history
All over to be seen

A demo from a pilot
On a hurricane wing Kyle stood
I had a go at flying
I wasn't any good

We learnt of Douglas Bader
And how his legs were lost
The battles during WWII
And all the lives it cost

We'd like to thank the Bader Braves
For giving us a day
Enlightening and enjoyable
In each and every way

Marwell Zoo

Marwell zoo is where we've been
So many animals to be seen
Penguins, zebra's tigers too
Living in our local zoo

The sun was hot,The air so still
Animals resting on their hill
They did not like the heat today
Fast asleep, not wishing to play

We finished on the road train ride
Let's hope our furry friends don't hide
We've had such fun, it's time to go
Get home before the sun sets low!!

Trustees Meet

Our 3 day meet is at an end
Our guests have now gone home
We stop by the lake to have a drink
Perhaps we'll have a roam

So many things to plan and do
Exciting things to come
FACT trustees are out in force
Don't battle with a mum

A child is the most precious thing
A mum and dad protect
So watch out those who never told
Of the drug and it's effect

(c)
Southwater

The water's still
The only movement, ripples
Caused by the birds as they swim
Gliding across the surface

The sky is blue
Soft clouds dancing
The only sounds to be heard
Is nature singing it's song!

Wednesday, 8 August 2012

Sitting watching boats go by
Whispers of cloud peer down from high
The sky is blue, the sea is calm
A soothing and refreshing balm

My skin's kissed gently by the breeze
It's nice and warm, I will not freeze
Emma's got cheesecake, Jan bakewell tart
Once we're refreshed , it's time to restart

Paperwork, paperwork so much to do
Relaxing first is important too
FACT is the reason we're all here today
Raising awareness so then people say.....
.....WE'VE HEARD OF THAT!!!
